Description
Wood End House is a small country house built in the early to mid 19th century. The exterior is rendered and color washed, topped with a gabled slate roof that features wide bracketed eaves. The main structure has a two-storey cross-plan design, with one-storey hipped blocks at the front angles and two-storey flat-roofed blocks at the garden angles, creating an overall rectangular shape.
On the entrance front, the slightly projecting central block includes a round-headed archway leading to a porch. This is complemented by a six-fielded panel door topped with a semi-circular fanlight that has glazing bars.
The garden front features a slightly projecting central bay with a ground floor canted bay and a first-floor round-headed central recess, which is flanked by smaller round-headed recesses, each containing a window. To the left side of the garden front, there is a two-storey wing. Most of the windows are sash types with glazing bars, although there are also French windows and some horizontal sashes on the garden side.
