Description
This is a terrace of six cottages, numbered 27 to 33, built in 1865 as part of the Bedford Estate. They are constructed of coursed limestone rubble with yellow brick dressings, and have a hipped clay tile roof with decorative dentil eaves. The cottages are arranged along an east-west axis, with slightly projecting end wings and a large central wing that is two bays wide. The window arrangement is 1:1:2:1:1, with casement windows featuring glazing bars on both the first and ground floors, all under slightly curved heads. Lean-to porches are situated to the sides of the central wing. The doorways are topped with semi-circular fanlights. The end wings have gables that echo the appearance of the porches on their side elevations.
