Description
Abbey Croft and Moon Cottage are two cottages dating from the 17th century, with a 18th century rear wing added to Abbey Croft. The buildings feature a timber frame, with Abbey Croft being rough cast rendered and color washed, while Moon Cottage is partly refaced in color washed brick and partly weather boarded. They have a thatched roof that is hipped to the west. The cottages have a five-room plan, are one storey high with attics, and include a single-storey rear wing.
On the south elevation, there are seven casement windows on the ground floor, mostly with two lights and glazing bars, except for the second from the left, which is a single light, and the rightmost window, which is a 20th century addition without glazing bars. The roof features three gabled dormers, each with two-light casements and glazing bars. Both cottages have plank doors, with Abbey Croft having an open thatched porch. There are two red brick double ridge stacks and another red brick stack at the west end. A 20th century pantiled single-storey addition is located to the west.
