Description

The Avenue numbers 54 to 62 form a late 18th-century terrace of six estate cottages, visually appearing as five. The walls are colourwashed plaster over a light timber frame, with a brick plinth. The roof is covered in old clay tiles. The cottages were originally planned in three groups of two, with each pair arranged around a double-sided hearth, providing two rooms on each of the ground and upper floors. The cottages are two storeys high, and a few casement windows remain, each with two leaded lights.
