Description
The Moat House is a house with origins in the 18th century, which has been altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of limestone rubble and has Welsh slate roofs. The building is two storeys high and has an L-shaped plan. The entrance front faces southeast and features a traceried fanlight above the porch, which is supported by slim Doric columns. There are three sash windows on the first floor and two on the ground floor, flanking the central front door. At the northeast end, there is a 20th-century cross-wing extension. The southwest elevation includes two additional units behind the main wing, with vertical sash windows on the first floor and casement and side sliding sash windows on the ground floor, along with a bracketed door hood. At the rear, there are two parallel outbuildings, one made of limestone and the other of brick, both single storey and topped with old clay tile roofs.
