Description

No. 2 High Street is a former lodge to Ouse Manor, dated 1840, and designed in a vernacular Picturesque style. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features an old clay tile roof. It has a two-room plan and is one storey high with attics. The central front door is situated under a gabled hood that has cusped bargeboards and a drop finial. This door is flanked by two windows adorned with ornate valances and square hood moulds. The north gable end includes a similar window on the first floor and a three-light bay on the ground floor. There are also a pair of central octagonal stacks, and the dated bargeboard displays large cusps and a drop finial.
