Description
West End Farmhouse is a large farmhouse that has elements from multiple periods. The front wing dates from the 19th century and is built of coursed limestone rubble, topped with an old clay tile roof. It features brick gable end stacks and stands two storeys tall. The front has three windows on the first floor, with the outer pair being three-light casements and the central window being a two-light casement, all with leaded panes. On the ground floor, there are two similar three-light windows on either side of a large modern stone and tile gabled porch.
Behind the front wing is a lower 17th-century wing constructed from timber framing, also with an old clay tile roof. The rear elevation of this wing includes some side sliding sashes with glazing bars. There is a small outhouse, built in a similar style, that has one storey and attics, attached to one gable end. At right angles to the earlier wing, forming a T plan, is a two-storey wing made of limestone.
