Description
Blackburn Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, located within a medieval moat. The building is primarily constructed of timber framing covered with colour washed plaster, although some sections have been replaced with colour washed brick. It features an old clay tile roof and has a T-plan layout, likely developed over several periods. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a cross-wing that may contain a first floor hall. Most of the windows are 20th century casements with leaded lights. The main wing includes a one-sided limestone fireplace, while the cross-wing has a large external chimney stack made of coursed limestone rubble on the north elevation.
