Description

The Church of St George, located on Coventry Street, was built between 1821 and 1824 by Francis Goodwin. This church is designed in the Perpendicular Gothic style and constructed from Bath stone. It features an impressive west tower with cast iron tracery in the bell openings, as well as a striking rose window also made of cast iron tracery. The interior suffered a fire in 1924 and was subsequently restored by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.
