Description
No. 51 Worcester Street is an early 19th-century building, dating from around 1800 to 1820. It was originally a pair of three-storey, one-bay houses for artisans, constructed from chequer brick in Flemish bond. The building features dentil brick eaves beneath a gable-end roof covered with concrete tiles. The doorways are centrally located, while the windows are positioned at the outer ends. The windows are revealed glazing-bar sashes, with the ground floor windows being broader. The left ground floor window includes a 19th-century casement. Both the ground and first floor windows are adorned with flat stepped voussoir and keystone painted stone arches. The doors consist of flush panels set in plain cases, topped with shallow consoles supporting entablatures and shallow cornice hoods.
