Description
The Parish Church of St Mary and All Saints is a Grade I listed building. The earliest part of the church is the chancel, which was consecrated in 1315. It features a Perpendicular style tower and nave; the tower, which has crenellations, was refaced in 1895 during extensive restoration work by Sir Giles Scott. The chantry was rebuilt in the early 16th century, and a vestry was added in the 18th century. There is a memorial cloister from 1887 and the Whittall chapel, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, was completed in 1922. Notable 15th-century monuments include the Beauchamp and Cokesey tombs, as well as various brasses.
