Description

Walnut House is a mid-17th century house constructed of blue lias stone with a plain tile roof. The building is arranged in an L-shape and has end wall stacks to the front range. It is a one-storey and attic structure. The front of the house has a double-fronted design and features two stone dormer gables. The ground floor has three-light casement windows, and the dormers have original dripmoulds. Within the gable at the South end of the building is a seemingly reset small, medieval two-light cusped stone window to the attic. A first-floor window with a curved hood, and a ground floor window with a hoodmould are also reused elements. The rear range has a half-hipped East gable with pigeon holes, and a stone dormer gable on the South side containing a two-light stone mullioned window with a hoodmould.
