Description
The Poplars is a house built around 1830 to 1840, with a rear section dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed from blue lias stone. The front part of the house is two stories high, featuring a slate roof with a low pitch and end wall stacks. It has three windows that are fitted with glazing bar sashes and have stone lintels above them. There is a porch on the north side of the house. Attached to the south end is a barn, which has a steeply pitched tile roof that was previously thatched. Inside the barn, there is a cider mill. The rear range of the house has a plain tile roof and an east end stack, with a plank door and a triple casement window on the south side, as well as an iron triple casement and a pair of casements on the north side. Behind the barn, there is a low brick range and a small stone barn.
