Description
Peacock House is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, constructed from blue lias stone with a modern plain tile roof. It features a west end wall stack and a ridge stack, and is one storey with an attic. The building has two gabled half-dormers, which contain leaded-light casements with small top-lights. The entrance includes a panelled door beneath a tiled gabled porch. To the left of the porch is a pair of casement windows, while to the right are two triple casements with small top-lights, also with leaded lights. An outer window is set in a stone surround with a keystone.
At the rear, there is an 18th-century wing that is two storeys high, also with a plain tile roof and two ridge stacks. It features a stone corbelled eaves cornice and a ground floor lean-to supported on stone posts.
Inside the front range, there is an inglenook fireplace and a heavily chamfered beam in the centre room on the ground floor.
