Description
These privies are located about 30 yards north-west of Hanbury Hall, attached to the north-west end wall of the Long Gallery. They date from the mid-19th century and are constructed of brick with a plain tiled roof featuring parapets at the gable ends. The privies have a small rectangular plan, with their end walls extending to connect with the Long Gallery, creating an enclosed yard. There are four doors leading to individual single-seater privies, each of which retains its wooden seat. The rear elevation has two doors that provide access to wooden ash dispensers and for cleaning purposes. These privies are included for their group value and as part of the 19th-century rear courtyard layout at Hanbury Hall.
