Description
High House is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. It features a timber-frame construction with painted brick infill, set on a brick and ashlar basement, topped with a tiled roof. The building has two framed bays aligned north to south and includes gable-end brick stacks. It stands two storeys above the basement and displays irregular fenestration. There are two windows on the first framed storey, which are 3-light casements, and two additional casements above. At ground level, the basement has a central entrance with a 20th-century timber surround, a 2-light casement to the left under a segmental head, and garage doors to the right with a timber lintel. The framing has been partially replaced, showing four square panels high from the basement to the wall-plate, and the trusses feature struts to the collar.
