Description

Long Hyde Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse, built on an earlier core and altered in the 19th century. The main structure is rendered blue lias stone with a slate roof and a brick ridge stack. A cross-wing extends from the north end, featuring a steep gabled roof and a plain tile roof slope on its north side.

The main range is two storeys and an attic, with three gabled dormers, moulded stone eaves, a coped south gable, three 16-pane sashes on the first floor, two similar sashes on the ground floor, an arched doorway with panelled reveals and an open pediment doorcase, and one casement pair. The gable end of the cross-wing has angle quoins at the north end, one 16-pane sash to the first floor, and a 19th-century splayed bay window on the ground floor.
