Description
The Queen Elizabeth I Arms Public House is a 17th-century building located on Main Street in Elmley Castle. It features a timber-framed core with whitened brick on stone foundations, while the left-hand portion is roughcast. The building has early 19th-century sash windows and consists of one bay. Its roof is covered with a mix of old and new tiles, and it has three gabled dormers. An inn sign from 1898 commemorates the verified visit of Queen Elizabeth I to the village in 1575. Later wings surround three sides of a courtyard. The public house is part of a group that includes Park Cottage, along with several other cottages in the area, highlighting its historical significance.
