Description
Nos 79 and 81 on Friar Street are late 16th-century buildings with a timber frame and painted brick exterior. They stand two storeys high, with the upper storey overhanging and supported by a moulded wood bressummer on restored curved brackets. The front features two early 19th-century casement windows, one with three lights and the other with four lights, along with two plain transomed six-light barred casements below. On the left side, there is a covered passageway that includes an altered six-fielded-panelled door. The buildings have an old tiled roof with gable ends. These properties are part of a group that includes all the listed buildings from Nos 53 to 81 (odd).
