Description

This is a late 18th-century bank building, later restored. The front is faced with engraved stucco, arranged over three storeys and featuring six sash windows with keyblocks and channelled lintels. The ground storey is rusticated, with pseudo-quoins at the sides, and topped by a parapet. Modern bank windows have been inserted into the ground storey, set within earlier moulded surrounds that retain keyblocks and shaped heads. An angled, semi-circular headed doorway is on the left-hand side, supported by Tuscan columns and an entablature. It forms a group with numbers 30 to 46 (even) and number 50 on the High Street.
