Description
The Old Manor House is a house dating from around 1700, constructed of squared limestone with some timber-framing and a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring four bays. There is a drip course above the ground floor windows, which have been altered; the left-hand window is a sash with glazing bars, while the others are casements. The first floor windows are rebated and chamfered, with mullions of two lights, except for a one-light window in the second bay. The house has three attic dormers and a door located in the second bay. The gables have copings, and the chimneys are topped with brick caps. The rear wall displays exposed timber-framing in four rows of square panels set on a stone plinth. The timbers, which are partly renewed, are of light scantling and show no evidence of bracing or principal posts. It is possible that this wall is contemporary with the front of the house. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in December 1986.
