Description
No. 63 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone later additions and alterations, including changes made to the ground floor around the 1980s. The building stands four storeys tall and features two first-floor windows. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick laid in Flemish bond, with a concealed roof. The first floor has replacement three-over-three sash windows, while the second and third floors have six-over-six sash windows. All windows are set in plain reveals, with brick sills and flat arches made of gauged brick. The building is topped with a crowning band and a low, coped parapet. It also has a lead rainwater head and downpipe. The interior has not been inspected. Nos. 61-65 High Street, which are consecutive, form a group of late 18th-century properties.
