Description
Robertsend Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 16th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick, and has an 18th-century red brick casing on the garden front. The roof is made of plain tiles and includes a ridge stack and an end wall stack. The building has one storey and an attic.
The entrance front displays two dormers, and the ground floor is largely timber-framed at both ends. The central section has been rebuilt in painted brick, retaining the timber uprights. On the left side, there is a timber-framed porch and an adjoining lean-to. The center features a two-light casement window, a chimney projection, and a three-light casement window with top lights. The right side has a long tension brace and a two-light window. The left end wall is timber-framed, while the right end wall is constructed of brick.
The garden front is notable for its two large gabled dormers and cambered head openings on the ground floor. It has a central door with a dated brick above it, marked "IB 1776," and two windows with two-light casements on each side, one of which is blocked. In the cellar, there is heavy timbering with roll moulding on one upright and a doorhead, which is likely a later addition dated 1674.
