Description
Church House Farmhouse is a building that originally served as two cottages, dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The structure features a combination of timber-frame construction with brick infill, as well as sections of rubble with brick dressings. It has a plain tile roof with a central brick chimney stack and an additional exterior brick stack on the left side of the main front.
The farmhouse is 1 and a half storeys high, with an attic that is illuminated by four gabled dormers. On the right side, there is a rubble bay that contains a door with a brick segmental head and a three-light segmental headed casement window. To the left, there are four structural bays of timber-frame, which include two casement windows and a door. The timber framing consists of three square panels high to the wall-plate, supported by straight tension braces. The roof on the left gable originally featured four queen struts, a ridge, and trenched purlins. At the left rear, there is a wing made of rubble, which is topped with a dentilled brick cornice.
