Description

Six Bells Cottage and Fairview are a late 17th-century house, now divided into two dwellings, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and the mid-20th century. The house is timber-framed with brick infill, rendered on the front, and rests on a sandstone ashlar plinth. It has a tile roof. The main range is composed of three framed bays, aligned north/south, with gable-end stacks and a central staircase. Two rear wings extend to the east. The house has a cellar and an attic lit by two gabled dormers, and features five windows: 2-light casements. The central window is a 20th-century replacement for a former entrance, and access is now from the rear. The timber framing consists of four square panels per bay.
