Description

Yarnold Lane Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse, now a house, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th and mid-20th centuries. The building is constructed of handmade brick, with some areas rendered and blue brick dressings. It has plain tiled roofs and end stacks, with a prominent external chimney on the right end having tiled offsets. A blue brick modillion eaves cornice runs along the top of the three-story front elevation. The farmhouse has two bays; the ground floor features 19th-century canted bay windows with central 16-pane sash windows. First floor windows are 16-pane sashes, and those on the second floor are 12-pane sashes. The central entrance has a flat canopy and a pilastered surround, leading to a half-glazed door. A two-story single-bay addition is located on the left side, featuring a large 3-light casement window on both floors. A large three-story wing extends to the rear left, incorporating a lean-to section where the current main entrance, with a 20th-century door, is situated.
