Description

This lychgate, located about 30 yards south of the Church of St Kenelm, was built around 1919 by Harold Brakspear. It features a timber frame set on a tall chamfered sandstone ashlar base, topped with a plain tiled roof that has overhanging eaves supported by shaped brackets and moulded bargeboards. The structure includes convex arch-braced tie-beam trusses with struts and convex struts, and each side has four square panels. At the center of the south truss, there is a carved figure of St Kenelm holding a dove, which is set within a traceried canopy.
