Description
The entrance gates and gatepiers to Compton Hall, built around 1845 by Edward Banks, are notable features made of ashlar and wrought iron. The paired gatepiers have round-headed panels, dentilled cornices, caps adorned with scrolled cresting, and ball finials. The gates themselves are enriched with cartouches that display monograms and also feature scrolled cresting.
