Description
No 35 on King Street is a shop and house built in the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick, partly painted, and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a gabled east front that faces the street, consisting of one bay. The ground floor includes a shop front dating from around 1900. Above this is a sashed window with glazing bars.
The right-hand return wall has three bays, with the two right bays unpainted and canted back. The ground floor windows are adorned with lintels that have horizontal reeding, paterae, and bracketed cornices. The middle bay's window is fitted with external timber shutters. The first-floor windows are also sashed and feature glazing bars. The door, located in the right-hand bay, consists of six panels with an overlight. Its doorcase has a reeded surround, cornice, and panelled reveals.
