Kiosk To East Of Former Brown Bear Pit At Dudley Zoo

The kiosk, located to the east of the former Brown Bear Pit at Dudley Zoo, is a Grade II* listed structure. It has an elliptical shape and features an open section for access, with a cross wall along the axis and a short, low wall extending to the north-east.

Constructed from reinforced concrete and supported by metal columns, the kiosk is a single storey building. Its roof is slightly elevated from the top of the walls and is held up by slender columns. The elliptical canopy roof extends beyond the building's footprint on all sides, providing shelter for visitors waiting in line. The front serving area includes a lower wall topped with a wide capping that serves as a counter. A depressed band runs around the exterior of the full-height end and rear walls at the same height as the counter.

Inside, the space is organized to allow for display areas at the rear, which are equipped with timber shelving on metal brackets. Although the lattice front of the display area and the access door to the north have been removed, the openings remain unchanged.
