Description
The kiosk to the south of the Bear Pit at Dudley Zoo is a Grade II* listed structure. It has an elliptical shape and features an open section for access, with the remains of a low wall footing to the north-east.
Constructed from reinforced concrete, the kiosk has metal columns supporting its single-storey structure. The roof is slightly elevated from the walls and is held up by slender columns. The elliptical flat roof extends beyond the building's footprint on all sides, providing shelter for visitors waiting in line. The serving area at the front includes a lower wall with a wide capping that serves as a counter, and a depressed band runs around the exterior at the same height on the full-height end and rear walls.
Inside, the space is organized to include display space at the rear, with the lattice front of the display area and the access door to the north still intact.
