Description
Baylies' Charity School, built around 1732, is a single-storey structure made of stucco. It features three windows with moulded architraves, including a central window that has stone pilasters and three lights. The building has plain pilasters and a projecting rectangular porch on the east side. Above the porch, there are blue-coated figures in niches on corbels, which are believed to be created by the sculptor Chantrey. The school also has a simple cornice and a blocking course, along with an inscribed panel in the center below the porch.
