Description

Nos 25 to 29 on Lower Holyhead Road are an early 19th century building, completed by 1837. They are part of a long range of 18 houses that feature living spaces below and workshops on the second floor, known as Topshops, which have large windows. These spaces were used by craftsmen in the weaving and watchmaking industries before steam-powered factories became common in the 1840s. The building is constructed of red brick with Welsh slate roofs and stands three storeys tall. Each house has one segmental arched casement window on each floor, with the top windows being particularly large.
