Description

The Church of St John the Baptist, founded in 1343 and restored in 1608, features a nave, aisles, a central tower, a chancel, and north and south chapels. There is a clerestory above the nave and chancel. The church underwent further restoration by Sir George Gilbert Scott between 1875 and 1877, during which flying buttresses and battlemented parapets were added, along with a new pulpit and reredos.
