Description

Brighton Place is a terrace of houses dating to circa 1855, located on Alcester Road in Moseley, Birmingham. The terrace gently rises with the road. The houses are built with stuccoed facades and have slate roofs. Each house is two bays wide and three storeys high. The ground floor is rusticated, with pairs of entrances set in arched, panelled reveals. Most windows are polygonal bay windows. A band runs along the first-floor sill level. The first-floor windows are sash windows within moulded, eared surrounds, some retaining original marginal glazing bars. The second-floor windows are sash windows within moulded, segmental-headed surrounds. A bracketed eaves cornice tops the terrace. Brighton Place is notable as an unusual example of a three-storey stucco-faced terrace in Birmingham.
