Description

Empire House is a late 19th-century building located on Edmund Street in the City Centre. It is constructed of red brick and terracotta and features a central stucco porch with coupled fluted Corinthian columns and a balcony above. The building has three storeys plus a basement and is five bays wide, with each bay on the top storey containing two lights. The ground and first floor windows are flanked by elongated brackets that support balconies for the first and second floor windows. The second floor windows are arched, and there is a balustrade along with a central pedimented attic. This building is listed for its group value only.
