Description

Lifford Hall, located on Lifford Lane in Stirchley, is an early 17th-century building, believed to date from 1604. Originally constructed of red brick with stone dressings, it is now mostly covered in cement render. The hall has three storeys and features two gabled bays. The ground floor has an asymmetrically placed door with a four-centred arched head and two recessed sash windows. On the first floor, there are two additional recessed sash windows. A broad band runs along the second floor level, where each gable has a blank window and a plaque displaying the name 'Lifford Hall' between them.

The right-hand return has a single blocked tripartite mullioned window on both the first and second floors. The left-hand return consists of two gabled bays, each with three recessed sash windows on the ground and first floors, a broad band at the second floor level, and a recessed sash window in each gable at the second floor. There is also a large, likely early 19th-century, battlemented bay window with mullions and a transom, followed by an 18th-century wing featuring a single mullioned window and a dormer window that intersects with the eaves. The building is adorned with a brick dentilled frieze and is enclosed by a length of 18th-century painted brick embattled wall that surrounds the courtyard behind the house.
