Description
The Saracen's Head is a late 15th-century building that has been altered and extended. It features a timber-framed structure with a tiled roof and stands two storeys high, comprising three bays. The outer two bays are both advanced and project behind an internal courtyard. The right bay is the solar wing of the original hall house, which has been recently restored and showcases close-set studding with plaster infill. Its upper storey is gabled and jettied on a moulded wood bressumer. The central bay has been encased in brick and includes a ground floor passage leading to the courtyard, two doors, and two bay windows, all framed by an early 19th-century Gothic frieze, except for the smaller window. Above the bay windows, there are tripartite casements. The left bay was rebuilt in the 19th century and features another bay window with a Gothic frieze, along with a single segment-headed casement window at the first floor level.
