Description
Nos 14 and 16 Gas Street are early 19th-century brick houses that have been altered, with the ground floors painted. They are two storeys high, each with three bays. No 14 features a ground floor with two windows and a door accessed by steps, set within a modest doorcase with panelled reveals. The first floor has two windows, all of which are sash windows with stuccoed cornices on brackets and complete with glazing bars. The building has a dentilled eaves cornice and a slate roof.
No 16 has a simpler ground floor with a door and a sash window, also featuring a stuccoed cornice on brackets. The first floor contains two altered sash windows, complete with glazing bars. The building has a parapet. Both properties back onto the canal, where they appear three storeys high. No 14 has a door accessed by steps within a modest doorcase and segment-headed sash windows, all with glazing bars. No 16 features a door and segment-headed windows, mostly with glazing bars.
