Description
Nos 60, 62, and 64 Vittoria Street is a building located on a corner site with Regent Street, dating from around 1820 to 1830, and is part of the early jewellery quarter. The structure features a five-bay front facing Vittoria Street and a three-bay return to Regent Street, which was extended to eight bays in a wing of similar style in 1881, designed by architect Douglas J Williams.
The building is three storeys tall and constructed of warm red brick, with a three-bay centre break on Vittoria Street and an inset curved corner at Regent Street. It has a low hipped slate roof and a straightforward design that highlights the quality of the brickwork. The ground and first floors have revealed glazing bar sash windows with flat gauged arches, while the second floor features iron-framed small pane windows with cambered arches. The 1881 extension has rubbed brick arches over the windows but otherwise matches the original building's style. Above the works entrance, there are tripartite windows, and a plain office doorway is framed in stucco. This building is a complete example of a jewellery quarter workshop and occupies an important corner site.
