Description

19 Yateley Road is an early 20th-century house, built in 1901 and subsequently altered. It was designed by H T Buckland and E Haywood Farmer for Sir James Smith, the first Lord Mayor of Birmingham. The house is constructed of pebbledash and has a tile roof. It is an example of the Arts and Crafts style, comprising three asymmetrical gabled bays that project forward from a main block with a hipped roof, running parallel to the road. A smaller, third gabled bay sits to the left and is set back slightly. The windows are mostly sash windows, irregularly placed and fitted with shutters. An altered door features at the entrance. The interior has also been altered.
