Description
Nos 87 to 97 on Northfield Road in Harborne, built around 1893, form a terrace of six houses designed in a generally Tudor style. Each pair of houses features a timber-framed gable at attic level. The ground and first floors are distinguished by a Gothic arch leading to the back and a single window. The ground floor follows a rhythmic pattern of door and window placements: door-window, window-door, Gothic arch, door-window, with all door-window units beneath a single continuous hood-mould, although the windows extend higher than the doors. The first floor has eight windows, each with hood-moulds. The attic storey contains six smaller windows, also with hood-moulds, and now has blank panels between the pairs, one of which appears to be dated 1893. All windows are casements with glazing bars, except for No 87 and the attic of No 91. The terrace features vermiculated quoins on both ends, coved eaves, and a slate roof.
