Description
The New Inns Public House, dated 1881 and extended on the right in 1901, is a public house located on Holyhead Road in Handsworth. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone dressings and features a symmetrical design, with two-storeyed gabled wings flanking a three-storeyed central block that has paired gables. The ground floor of the central block has windows with decorated-type moulded surrounds, while the upper floor windows are fitted with mullions. All windows contain leaded glazing, with stained glass in the upper lights. Inside, there is a staircase hall adorned with William De Morgan style tiles, an art nouveau plasterwork ceiling, and a bar featuring engraved glass and mirrors.
