Description
The Aston Cross clock tower, located at the junction with Park Road, is a Grade II listed structure dating from December 1891. It was manufactured and erected by George Smith and Company, Sun Foundry, Glasgow, with architectural design by Arthur Edwards. The tower is square in plan and features a high plinth. The panelled shaft is adorned with Corinthianesque colonnettes that have ring shafts at the corners. At the top, there are four clock faces, each surmounted by pediments with elaborate open cresting and a finial.
