Description
The Leasowes is a building dating from around 1890, designed by Ernest Newton. It features an unusual combination of materials, including red brick, tile hanging, some timber framework with plaster infilling, and some stone dressings. The roof is mainly hipped with a pair of front gables on the right and one back gable projecting. There are tall red brick chimney stacks and lattice casement windows, along with box dormers. The building has two storeys and attics. The entrance front has a central castellated two-storey projection that forms a porch, with a first-floor multi-light stone mullioned window and a dome topped with a ball finial.
