Description
Whitley End is a farmhouse that was formerly divided into cottages. It dates from the mid-16th century, with an 18th-century front and later alterations. The building features a stone plinth on the left and a 19th-century brick plinth on the right. The structure is made of red brick with random flared bricks and has a plain-tile roof from the 20th century. There is a brick end stack on the left and a brick ridge stack to the left of center.
The farmhouse is two stories high and has a three-window main range with a two-story cross-wing to the right. The windows have irregular placements, with casements on the ground floor of the main range and in the cross-wing, all featuring segmental brick heads. The rear of the building has brickwork on the ground floor and close-studded timber-framing with roughcast infill on the first floor. There are 20th-century doors at the center and irregular fenestration of casements. The interior has not been inspected.
