Description
The Old Farmhouse is a Grade II listed farmhouse located in Mousley End, dating from the 16th century, with an early 17th-century porch and an 18th-century encasement of the cross-wing. The building features small timber-framing with brick infill on the left side, irregular timber-framing with brick infill to the right of center, and brick on the right cross-wing. It has an old plain-tile roof and a brick ridge stack to the left of center with two diagonally set flues. The structure is single storey and attic with a four-bay main range and a two-bay cross-wing to the right. There is a two-storey porch to the left of center, which has a plank studded door and a jettied first floor. The first floor of the porch displays herringbone timber-framing with rendered infill, and the porch has a cross-gabled roof. The main range and cross-wing have irregular fenestration. Although the interior was not inspected, it is reputed to contain 17th-century wall paintings.
