Description
30 Jury Street is a building from 1781, possibly designed by Archer. It is an early 18th-century structure with two storeys, an attic, and a basement, featuring a three-window facade made of ashlar sandstone. The upper part of the building has been affected by the removal of its parapet and/or cornice at the eaves. There are pilasters between the bays with moulded bases, although the Tuscan capitals have been removed. The windows are sash types in cased frames with keyblocks. The central entrance has a six-fielded-panelled door with a fanlight, framed by a moulded stone eared architrave with key blocks and an entablature. The first floor's central window opening also features a moulded stone architrave, with a small sash window (without glazing bars) to the right of the entrance. The roof has three later gabled dormers covered with old tiles. A good wrought iron lamp sconce is mounted on the garden wall, and there is a modern canted stone bay to the left of the ground floor, along with a lower back wing. Inside, there are 18th-century panellings and a possible powder closet. This building is part of a group of listed buildings on the south side.
