Description
The Church of St Charles is a Roman Catholic church located in Budbrooke, Hampton-on-the-Hill. It was originally built in 1819 in the Gothick style, with a perpendicular style addition completed in 1830. The church is rendered and features a slate roof. The original 1819 structure included a north/south aisle, while the current nave, constructed in 1830, is positioned at the center of the west side, creating a T-shaped plan with two transepts. The 1830 nave has a gabled west end adorned with pinnacles, diagonal buttresses, and a three-light perpendicular traceried window, which is complemented by a moulded four-centred arch window below. Inside, there is a four-centred arch altar recess with panelled walls and a white marble altar in the late Empire style.
