Description
Alderham Farmhouse is a timber-framed house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, featuring painted brick infill panels. It has a steeply pitched plain tile roof that is hipped to the west and half-hipped to the east, resting on a sandstone plinth. The building has two storeys and an attic, organized into four bays.
On the ground floor, there are three one-light casements and one three-light casement, along with three plank doors. Two of the doors are sheltered by gabled canopies, while one has a fanlight above it. The first floor has one two-light casement and one three-light casement, along with two gabled dormers that have modern casements. A brick ridge chimney stack is present on the roof.
Inside, the farmhouse features exposed stud partition walls and chamfered ceiling beams, which display medieval carpenter's marks and Roman numerals.
